Hearty meals - 楊記大餛飩 (Yáng jì dà húntún) - Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT

It's so delicious until I forget that I haven't snap the photo of the restaurant. However, you come to see the food, right? haha. The restaurant name is 楊記大餛飩 (Yáng jì dà húntún). It can be easily found so don't worry :)

The first time here, I ordered simple noodle and I just watched what people ordered :) The second time here, I learned my lesson and I ordered 紅油抄手 (Hóng yóu chāoshǒu) for 90NT. It comes with mixed 抄手 (chāoshǒu) because I want to try them all hehe. I'm not sure what's the difference between 抄手 chāoshǒu and 餛飩 (húntún / wonton). After some researches, I think it's just the same thing but called differently depends on location.

Look at those dried seaweeds! I love the greens!! They add crispiness to the dish and make it flavorful. They complement the dish really well. Besides the greens topping, I also love the pickles! The tangible and refreshing taste from the pickles really complete the dish and make you can eat more and more haha.

Enough topping, let's talk about the wonton ;) If you order it without noodles then they will add more wontons. I'm not sure about the amount of wontons but I think you will get 5. With noodle, you get only 4 wontons. With or without noodle, the price is the same. The wontons are packed with meat and the wonton's skin is just PERFECT! Not too thick and not too thin. It just 'melts' in your mouth!

Last but not least the SOUP!!!! The 紅油 (Hóng yóu) is sour and a bit oily (of course it's oily because 油(yóu) means oil haha). It's really refreshing and bind all the tastes together.

This is the treasure map to this hidden gem! Don't worry the the place is not-so-hidden. It's near the edge of the road.

ENJOY!
